I walk endlessly through these dark corridors.
I fail to fight my all consuming addiction.
I must eat.
They are chasing me.
Forward and forward I move, my mouth constantly yelping for the next pill.
They are here.
I run to find that which will give me energy.
It sits before me like the sun.
I swallow the glowing orb, its chalk scratches my throat.
It makes me strong.
I turn and devour the ghosts of my past.
Now I will hide.
Release the stranger within.
I wear the bow.
(This poem is inspired by an amazing performance of U.FI. many months ago at the wonderful Crumblin’ Cookie in sunny ol Leicester)
